About This Project:
This was a project I decided to tackle on behalf of Sabor Vapors. Being their In-House Graphics Designer, it was important that I had a solid Brand Style Guide to use, especially with the constant regulations being enforced by the FDA/State governments. Michelle Gobbi, a previous freelance graphic designer, has designed their logo for them, now I needed to create their brand.
Challenges:
I have previously used Brand Style Guides/Visual Identities Systems before, but this was my first time creating one. I needed time to do some research and make sure I was including all the relevant information, and also have a smooth template for others to follow if needed. I had to be sure to include all the FDA/State regulations since they had created specific rules for packaging eliquid/vapor products. This would be extremely important for future designers to know to not only stay on brand but also design everything legally for Sabor Vapors. This information was constantly changing and being updated.
Solution:
I researched and studied some well-known companies' brand guides, gathered all relevant information I needed from the owners of Sabor Vapors and FDA/State websites, and began to create Sabor Vapors Brand Style Guide. I consistently checked the regulatory websites to make sure the information had not changed as I worked through the design. Once I had my template setup and information ready, I just needed to layout the information in an easy-to-follow and cohesive guide, without being overbearing. In the end, the guide turned out great and was a very rewarding project to work on.
